Children's Film: Dragoncastle
Becky and Paul Mason started to create an animated fairy tale named Dragoncastle when they were 10 and 12 years old, respectively. It was finished five years later. Produced by Bill Mason and with music by Andrew Huggett, this 13 minute film is set in a mythical kingdom populated by delightfully entertaining characters brought to life via plasticene animation. Dragoncastle features a brave knight who has his own way of dismounting from his horse, mischievous moat monsters and a ferocious fire spewing dragon who is really quite misunderstood. These whimsical characters react together to create an entertaining story about the environment, honour, respect and responsibility. Dragoncastle has garnered 15 international awards on its way to becoming a children's classic. A film by children for children, it captures the imagination of children and adults alike. The narrators in the background sound track are children Tanya and Baron Bryant. |
