My Country is Winter is a group of paintings I created 2017-2018 based on my thoughts, feelings and love for my home province of Quebec. In them I take the stereotype of winter and turn it into a metaphor for the hidden themes of isolation, rejection and identity present here in Quebec; a place where every cultural and linguistic group feels like a minority and paradoxically, may be bound together because of it.
